The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1737, barred As in GRATIA, larger lettering, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, six hearts to semée, roses and plumes in angles, edge obliquely milled, 7h (Pywell-Phillips 337; ESC 1200; Bull 1711; S.3700), a beautifully sharp example, lustrous and richly cabinet toned, a most pleasing and arresting extremely fine
