The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1731, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. T over E [?], crowned shields cruciform, with single pearls to bands, nine strings to harp, eight hearts to semée, roses and plumes in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips - [cf. 332]; ESC 1194; Bull 1704; S.3698), some adjustment marks to French shield, otherwise prettily cabinet toned with abundant colour in recesses, a pleasing and wholesome very fine
