The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1684, CAROLVS • II • - DEI • GRATIA, fourth larger laureate and draped bust right, no stop before DEI, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, five strings to harp, interlocking Cs in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 73; Bull 559; ESC 1066; S.3381), lightly cabinet toned and lustrous, a pleasingly good very fine, a choicer example of this last Carolean year of issue
