The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1678, CAROLVS • II • - DEI • GRATIA, second laureate and draped bust right, no stop before DEI, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, five strings to harp, interlocking Cs in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 67; Bull 543 [R2]; ESC 1052 [R2]; S.3375), heavily circulated, otherwise cabinet toned and lustrous, only fair / good fine, but a very rare date
