NGC Ch XF | Roman Republic, Q. Servilius Caepio (M. Junius) Brutus and C. Servilius Ahala, moneyer, AR Denarius, Rome, 54 BC, BRVTVS, bare head of Brutus right, rev. AHALA, bare head of Ahala right, 3.87g (Crawford 433/2; Sydenham 932; RBW 1543), excellent portraiture struck upon a pleasingly-toned flan, evidence of die-flaw to obverse field, but otherwise a lovely example of this highly sought-after issue, good very fine, in an NGC 'Ancients' holder, graded Choice Extremely Fine (Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5) [NGC Cert. #8220524-007]
