George H. Wilson was born on 23 July 1883 and originally enlisted with the Clyde Division on 23 January 1906, while working as a Consulting Engineers Assistant. Serving initially aboard Natal in August 1908, he was promoted Petty Officer on 1 October 1908.
Wilson served with Bellerophon and Excellent and earned his L.S. & G.C. Medal on 29 March 1912.
Transferred to the London Division of the R.N.V.R. on 19 January 1914, with the outbreak of the Great War Wilson was mobilised with Assistance - the repair shop at Scapa Flow - on 5 August 1914 and was demobilised on 4 March 1919.
