Richard Cole first served overseas on 12 September 1914. His entry for his 1914 Star notes 'Tried for Desertion', this is later crossed out, having been restored, his Clasp & Roses were issued in 15 April 1924. He was given the number L/11260 whilst serving with The Queen's Regiment.
