Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1872 [Die 46] (2), second larger young head, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 6h, 7.95g; 6h, 7.97g (Marsh 56; Spink 3853B; MCE 533), both with a touch of rub to the hair and lightly contact marked, some hairline die flaws to legends, nevertheless both with a pleasing flashy lustre, bolder very fine, the reverses better (2)
