(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1860, 'Large 0', O over C in VICTORIA, second larger young head, W.W. incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.99g, 7h (cf. Marsh 43; Bentley 82; MCE 521; Spink 3852D), a new example of the around two-dozen known to commerce, this evidently struck from the same obverse die as the Bentley 'discovery' coin, albeit whilst the matrix was fresher and not flawed, the letter over-punching extremely clear, almost extremely fine, the reverse much as struck, one of the finer now extant, very rare thus
