U.S.A.: United States Gold Placers Limited, £1 shares, 188[8], #789, attractive printing in black with pink underprint. Registered 1886 to acquire Cottonwood Placers, about 800 acres on the banks of the San Miguel River, Colorado. Reconstructed as United States Gold Placers (New Company) Limited in 1889. Newspaper reports of 1892 accuse the company of being a swindle following its bankruptcy in the same year. AVF and scarce.
