Volunteer Force Long Service (India & the Colonies), V.R. (Volr. H. E. Wilson N. W. Ry. Volr. Rifles), officially engraved naming, good very fine

Herbert Eyre Wilson was born on 21 January 1861 and was baptised at St John's Church, Meerut with his twin brother. He worked as a Clerk on the railways and was variously with the Audit Department of the Oudh & Rohilkhan Railway, when being married at Faizabad in 1884 and with the Sindh-Pishin Railway by 1890. Having been awarded his L.S. Medal as per Indian Army Order 448 of May 1901, he was thence a Guard at Quetta. Wilson died at Lahore in January 1915; sold together with copied research.
