Defence and War Medals 1939-45, both Canadian issues; Memorial Cross, G.VI.R. (Sgt W.O.A.G. R. E. Manser R115267), very fine or better (3)
Raymond Earl Manser was born on 30 July 1922 and attested on 17 July 1941. He served with 180 Squadron Royal Air Force and was involved in a crash landing in a Mitchell II bomber (FL676) on 12 April 1943 out of R.A.F. Foulsham, escaping without injury, but was killed in an air firing exercise on 26 May 1943, again in a Mitchell II (FL969) off the coast of Wells, Norfolk.
He is buried in the St. Mary Churchyard, Great Bircham, Norfolk and was the son of Henry and Lauretta Manser of Toronto, Ontario, Canada ; husband of Lillian Ruth Manser (nee Dennis) of Toronto.
