Gordon Wallace Christie was born at South Shield, Durham on 8 July 1913, the son of Albert and Clara Christie. Enlisting with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve he served as a Sergeant during the Second World War with the service number 997219. Commissioned Pilot Officer on 19 August 1943 he received the new number of 157044. Serving as an Air Gunner during this time Christie was later promoted Flying Officer on 19 February 1944.

At the end of the War he was further advanced Flight Lieutenant on 19 August 1945, a rank he retained after the fighting as his service was extended by four years. Confirmed Flight Lieutenant Christie joined the Secretarial Branch and was later advanced Squadron Leader in this role on 1 October 1956. He was finally discharged on 31 May 1961 and retired to Surrey. Christie died in January 1996; sold together with copied research including census data, Air Force lists and London Gazette entries.
