Geoffrey Arthur Lowther was commissioned from the rank of Leading Aircraftman on 9 March 1944 with the Special Duties Branch. Further advanced Flying Officer on 9 September 1944, the rank he held until the end of the war, Lowther continued to serve for another decade, relinquishing his commission on 3 August 1954 and retaining the rank of Flying Officer; sold together with handwritten research and a campaign medal transmission slip.
