Three: Sergeant W. A. Pugh, 53rd (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery, who was taken a Prisoner of War at the Fall of France on 30 May 1940

1939-45 Star; War Medal 1939-45; Efficiency Medal, Territorial, G.VI.R., with Additional Service Bar and two Rosettes upon riband (785668. Sjt. W. A. Pugh. R.A.), mounted as worn, good very fine (3)

William Archie Pugh was born on 2 August 1911 and was a lorry driver living at 90 Coventry Street, Kidderminster upon his joining the 53rd (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery on 1 September 1939. He served with his unit during the Battle of France, including the action at Wormhoudt and was taken a Prisoner of War. Pugh was variously held at Thorn (12 June-31 July 1940), the Working Camps at Meridon, Marionau and Ruckenau (31 July 1940-9 October 1943), Marienburg, Thorn and Fallingbostel. Returned home, he was awarded an Additional Service Bar to his Efficiency Medal as per Army Order 27/48 of February 1948; sold together with postcard of the recipient and copied research including Mi9 debrief and POW cards.
