William Brodie was wounded in action (April 1917), suffering a gun-shot wound to the right leg, being evacuated to London for treatment - first Southwark hospital then on to Dulwich. Recovering and rejoining his regiment, he was then noted for infractions of discipline on several occasions including 'Smoking on Parade after sounding "Fall In"; and 'Kit untidy & not laid out as per regulations.'; sold together with a small file of copied Service History papers.
