Reginald Jarvis Lawton served as Private No. 304 with the 2nd South African Rifles in addition to the Kalahari Horse and South African Heavy Artillery; a further note on his service papers also references joining the Intelligence Department in September 1916. Deployed to East Africa, he suffered from Blackwater Fever and Malaria but fortunately survived to be discharged in 1919; sold together with copied Service Record.
