Three: Officers' Steward 2nd Class A. E. Smith, Royal Navy, who was serving on H.M.S. Lizard at the Battle of Jutland

Albert Edward Smith was born at Plymouth on 10 February 1881 and was a labourer when he joined the Royal Navy on 14 June 1901. Prior to the Great War he served on a number of ships before joining Lassoo shortly after the war began. Posted to Lizard on 29 May 1916 he served aboard her until 25 October 1916.

Lizard took part in the Battle of Jutland as part of the First Destroyer Flotilla. She survived the battle unscathed and with no known casualties.

Smith was discharged to shore on 13 June 1923 having been paid a war gratuity; sold together with copied service papers.
