Army L.S. & G.C., V.R. (1674 Sergt. H. Burchell. C.B. R.A.), minor contact wear, very fine

Henry Burchell was born at Arundel, Sussex in 1829, enlisting with the Royal Artillery on 7 December 1846. Promoted Sergeant with the Royal Artillery on 1 September 1859 he served a year and a half in Bermuda with this unit. Later transferring to the Royal Sussex Military Artillery on 1 April 1866 Burchell was not with them for long, transferring for a final time to the Coastal Brigade, Royal Artillery on 4 January 1866 and being discharged on 17 July 1868.
