Bernard Bradley was born on 30 April 1911 was a grocery warehouseman when he enlisted in the Royal Military Police on 3 September 1939. He was discharged at Lincoln on 15 October 1945.

His conduct was described as exemplary with the further remarks:

'This NCO enlisted in the Corps of Military Police before the war. He has served in France from January to June 1940, North Africa and Italy from June 1943 until March 1944. Bradley has proved himself an intelligent, trustworthy and conscientious military policeman and during the last few months he has been in charge of the Corporals mess. He can be recommended to any employer'.
