Four: Battery Quartermaster Sergeant T. A. Wren, 11th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, who was taken Prisoner of War on 27 June 1942

1939-45 Star; Africa Star; War Medal 1939-45; Efficiency Medal, Territorial (6138591 B.Q.M.Sjt. T. A. Wren. R.A.), the first three in their named card box of issue, addressed to 'Mr T. A. Wren, 57 Tivoli Road, West Norwood, London, S.E.27.', good very fine (4)

Thomas Alfred Wren was born in 1911 and enlisted in the 5th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment on 16 January 1929. Transferred to the Royal Artillery, he served with the 11th Field Regiment during the Second World War and was taken a Prisoner of War with the unit in the Western Desert on 27 June 1942, at the Battle of Mersa Matruh. The unit were both photographed (IWM E 14114) and painted in action (IWM ART 17111) that summer.
