William Heptinstall was born at Pontefract in 1890 and entered the war in France on 7 May 1915. He was discharged on 13 November 1917 and is entitled to a Silver War Badge. Note to the reverse of the medal states he was a Lieutenant in the Home Guard and died in 1971 in Yorkshire.
