Edward South was born at Buckland, Hertfordshire and enlisted at Royston and entered the war in France from 12 May 1915 and was killed in action on 11 July 1915, whilst serving with the 1st Bn. He is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and was the son of Mrs. Eliza J. South, of Buckland, Buntingford, Hertfordshire.
