William Joseph Gent was born at Long Eaton, Derbyshire and enlisted at Woolwich. He entered the war in France from 1 June 1915 and was killed in action on 30 September 1915, whilst serving with the 3rd Bn. and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial and was the son of Mrs. M. Adams, of 12 Chestnut Avenue, Derby.
