Khedive's Sudan 1896-1908, 1 clasp, The Atbara (3629 Pte Bain 1 Cam. Highrs), light contact marks, very fine

William Bain was born at Dundee, Forfar and enlisted into the Cameron Highlanders on 10 September 1894. He served in Gibraltar between 4 October 1896-3 October 1897 and then goes to Egypt between 4 October 1897. He was wounded at Atbara on 8 April 1898 and was invalided to Netley Hospital on 16 July 1898 having returned to the U.K. on the previous day. He was discharged as medically unfit nearly a year later on 8 July 1899.
