Queen's Sudan 1896-98, no clasp (3608 Pte G. Baker 1/N. Staff:R.), light contact marks, very fine

George Baker was born at Drayton, Tamworth, Staffordshire and enlisted on 9 February 1892. He spent most of his military career abroad and served in Malta between 21 March 1893- 4 October 1895 moving on to Egypt where he served from 5 October 1895-11 October 1897. Tranferring from there to the East Indies between 12 October 1897-2 February 1902 and then to South Africa from 3 February 1902-17 September 1902.

Further entitled to the Khedive's Sudan medal with clasp Hafir and the Queen's South Africa medal, serving with the 2nd Bn, with clasps Transvaal and South Africa 1901 and was discharged on 8 February 1904.
