India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Pegu (John Ford. 1st Cl. Carpenr. "Moozuffer"), good very fine and scarce

The H.E.I.C.S. Moozuffer was part of the East India Company Marine, the ancestor of the Royal Indian Navy. She is referred to as a 'frigate' and was part of the force which bombarded Rangoon in April 1852 and later took part in operations on the river and coast alongside Sesostris. Later in the war Moozuffer was utilised as a troop ship to ferry reinforcements to the British Army in Burma.
