Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., coinage head issue (M.39313 F. W. Salmon. L.S.A. H.M.S. Windsor.) light contact marks, very fine
Frederick William Salmon was born at Portsmouth on 18 November 1898 and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class (No. J.31251) on 11 May 1914 on Ganges and served on Ajax from 9 January 1915 for the remainder of the Great War(1914-15 Star Trio).
Salmon was invalided on 1 November 1922 but re-entered the Royal Navy for a further twelve years on 21 July 1925 and was awarded this L.S. & G.C. Medal on in 1934. He served on Dolphin from 9 August 1940, until he was pensioned on 5 August 1941 and was released on 12 September 1945.
