William James Revell was born on 17 April 1895 at Fulford, York and was a horse and garden boy upon joining the Royal Navy on 17 April 1913. He served on Agamemnon from 29 April 1914-19 November 1917, Pembroke from 20 November 191711 July 1918 and a brief spell on Eaglet from 2 July-31 October 1918. Shore pensioned on 16 April 1935, he re-enlisted on 28 September 1938 and served at home during the Second World War. He was finally released on 16 August 1943.
