Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R. (Richd Harraghty, Chf Btmn, H.M. Coastguard) very fine

Richards Harraghty was born Oyster Haven, County Cork on 8 November 1846 and served as Boy 1st Class from 7 March 1864-24 March 1865 aboard Hawke. He thence served on Constance from 25 March 1865-24 December 1868, Royal Adelaide from 25 December 1868-1 November 1869, Narcissus from 12 August 1870-8 October 1872 and Mersey from 9 October 1872-31 May 1873. He volunteered for continuous service on 24 February 1875 for a further ten years.
