Five: Sergeant G. Thompson, Royal Air Force

1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Air Crew Europe Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, sold together with the recipient's Flying Log Book, good very fine (5)

G. Thompson flew first as a Wireless Operator before qualifying as an Air Gunner on 13 October 1944 with No. 24 Training Wing. Transferring to No. 27 Bomber Defence Training school he was stationed with No. 27 Operational Training Unit by April 1945; sold together with an original riband bar, R.A.F. cap badge and bible named to W/O Thompson, R.A.F., dated March 1941 as well as a flying log book cover the period September 1944-April 1945 - somewhat distressed but legible.
