Charles Gaston served in India with the 6th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment during the Great War. The unit went there in October 1914, joined the Aden Field Force from 1917-January 1918, before returning to India. Gaston latterly served with the 23rd Battalion, Rifle Brigade; sold together with copied research and a photograph of the recipient.
