Arthur Edmund Redfearn was born at Leeds on 16 February 1876 and served in the ranks of the Royal Artillery during the Boer War, being present with the Pom Poms Section. With the outbreak of the Great War he served in France from 6 October 1914 with the 22nd Brigade. Having been commissioned 2nd Lieutenant he also held the rank of Adjutant during the Great War and was finally released from the Reserve of Officers in 1928. He died on 27 October 1937; sold together with copied research including photographs.
