The Queen's South Africa Medal awarded to Private C. Brumby, Lincolnshire Regiment, who died of disease at Bloemfontein on 24 April 1900

Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Paardeberg (3215. Pte. C. Brumby. 2/Linc/ Rgt.), edge wear, very fine

C. Brumby served as part of the 2nd Battalion, entering the war on 25 January 1900 they joined the march to Bloemfontein, seeing action at Karee Siding during the advance. Brumby fell ill during the advance and died of disease at Bloemfontein on 24 April 1900 and is commemorated upon the Lincoln Minster memorial plaque; sold together with copied casualty rolls, medal rolls and typed research.
