Afghanistan 1878-80, 1 clasp Kabul (58 Pte. J. Perrin. 2/9th Foot), contact marks and edge bruising, very fine

J. Perrin served with the 2nd Battalion, Norfolk Regiment during the siege of the Sharpur Cantonment. Notably this Battalion served as rear-guard at Jadallak and came under attack while marching from Kabul to Jellalabad. Despite standing orders to the contrary they had their colours with them at the time making this one of the last times a Regiment fought beneath their colours. Perrin is listed as later being a Chelsea Pensioner, having been discharged on 17 May 1887; sold together with typed research and an extract from The Royal Norfolk Regiment.
