Edward Murray is listed as serving with the 1st Battalion during the Perak campaign. He is further listed as with the unit during their time protecting the enclave of Yokohama, Japan, here he doubtless served alongside John William Fenton, called 'the first bandmaster in Japan'; sold together with a copied transcript of the Worldwide Index 1871.
