(m.m.) • CHRISTO : AVSPICE : REGNO : 1644 • oval shield garnished with uneven scrolls, date to left of mintmark, 27.96g, 10h, m.m. castle (Besly D19; Brooker 1043 same dies; Lockett 12c; FRC Sale lot 126 same dies; North 2249; Spink 3058), irregular flan as usual for issue, with traces of doubling, otherwise evenly cabinet toned, a really good fine to approaching very fine in parts, a very scarce die combination
