Anglo-Saxon England, Continental Issues (c. 695-740), Series X, "Insular", Sceat, 'Wodan' head facing with radiate hair, annulets at sides and above, beard of vertical strokes, rev. crested monster right, facing left, annulet beneath body, 0.73g, 12h (SL 104-25; SCBI 69 [Abramson], 334; North 116; Spink 797), trace porosity, otherwise well-centred and lightly toned, a pleasingly bold very fine, the reverse nearing extremely fine, scarce and highly sought after, a most desirable and rare example
