Islamic Gold Coins (2) | Umayyad Caliphate, Abd al-Malik (685-705), AV Dinar, 79h (689-699), Dimashq, three lines and surrounding bands of inscription in Kufic to each side, edge plain, 4.26g, 6h (Fb. 9); additionally, Ottoman Empire, Suleiman I the Magnificent (1520-1566) / 926-974AH, AV Sultani, 926AH, Constantinople, in Arabic: 'Sultan Soliman | ibn Selim Han | Azze Nasruhu Duriba bi | Konstantiniyye | Fi | Sana 926' (translates to "[The] sultan Suleiman [I] | Son of Selim [I], Han. | May his Kingdom perpetuate. | Struck in Constantinople | [Accession in] 926 [AH]."), inside a circle, the titulature of the sultan followed by the mint and the accession year, rev.. in Arabic: 'Darib al-Nadir | Sahib al-Izz wa al-Nasr | fi al-Barr wa al-Bahr :' (translates to "Striker of the Glittering, | Master of Might and Victorious | of Land and Sea.", 3.48g, 10h (Friedberg 4), both bright but lustrous, one crimped the other with scuffs, a bolder very fine (2)
