1942 (5 May) unstamped envelope to India marked "Brought by me from Rangoon during the great trek to Myitkyina, via Prome and Mandalay, across rivers, through treacherous quicksands, harassed by Japanese Bombers. From Myitkyina to Dinjan by C.N.A.C. Aeroplane. While in flight, forced down by Japanese fighters at Sadiya. Flight continued after an hour to find Dinjan Aerodrome bombed, and huts blazing", signed by C.A. Patzert and showing circular "by c.n.a.c./myiitkyna/sadiya/dinjan/rescue plane" cachet in violet and, on reverse, flight route label tied by Stephen Smith signature
