Upper Sheikh: 1903 (23 July) envelope to Lahore and redirected, bearing India Q.V. 1a. tied by a fair strike of the type D5 c.d.s. backstamps include Base Office Berbera (25.7) and Sea Post Office c.d.s. Sent by C. Wynch, Superintendent of Posts. Also 1903 (7 Sept.) envelope to Plymouth bearing India Q.V. 1a. tied by Base Office Berbera c.d.s., the reverse with a fair strike of the type D6 F.P.O. c.d.s. and appropriate transit c.d.s. and with the notation, "Active Service, no stamps available, R.W. Townsend Capt., 2/K.A. Rifles". Some faults, an interesting pair of covers. (2 covers)
