India Q.V. ½a. stationery envelope to Dover, uprated with British Somaliland 1a.; the stationery is cancelled by a good strike of the type D5 c.d.s., the 1a. by manuscript stroke and Berbera c.d.s. (7.8) with Dover arrival (23.8) alongside; apparently redirected from Dover to Alton, Hampshire, though no redirection noted; some light creasing. An unusual combination franking from Lieut C.H. Hawkins of the 1st Hampshire Regiment. Also India registered envelope to Lieut Hawkins from Bohar Ka-Shauk to Murree Hills. (2 covers)
