1894 a group of postal covers bearing Makea values cancelled by Raratonga c.d.s. each bearing the large "R" in oval struck in purple with (13 Mar.) to Saxony bearing 1½d, 2½d and 5d., numbered "831"; (26 Apr.) long envelope to Hanover bearing 1½d. and 10d. cancelled by the P.O. postmark and numbered "850"and (14 July) to Bengal bearing 2½d., 5d. and 10d, numbered "1106" (ex Floyd Fitzpatrick).
