1908 essay for unissued ½d. green with "bechuanaland protectorate" in bold sans-serif capitals below "post card" and overprinted "specimen" (Type 10), a little soiled. The only known example. PC E(13) S(1). Photo

Note: The specimen handstamp was supplied by De La Rue to the Inland Revenue Department in 1904. It was used on the overprinted King Edward cards distributed to the U.P.U. in 1907. This essay originated from a record book kept by the Inland Revenue.
