New South Wales: 1871-85 a group of underpaid covers with 1871 envelope to London bearing Diadem 6d. tied by Sydney duplex and bearing a good strike of unframed "deficient postage 6/fine .... 6} 1/-" in black with manuscript "1/-" alongside; 1883 envelope to Liverpool bearing sideface 6d. tied by "249" numeral, a fine strike of the unframed "deficient postage 2d/fine --- 6d.} 8d" with large "8d" struck in black (some tone spotting); 1884 envelope to London bearing 2d. and 6d. tied by Sydney N.S.W. duplex, a good strike of "deficient postage 4d./fine 6d.} 10d" in black; 1885 envelope to Bathurst and redirected to Mitchell bearing G.B. 6d. green tied by Mitcham duplex and with a light strike of boxed "deficient postage 6d./fine - - - 6d.| 1/-" in purple. Condition is a little mixed. A good range of markings. (4 covers)
