W. Oswell Livingstone (1851-1892)
1873 Autograph letter written by the second son of the explorer, Dr David Livingstone, born along the River Zouga, Bechuanaland and who died in Trinidad, where he practiced medicine. The 2pp letter is written to Horace Waller, the English anti slavery campaigner, writer on Africa and close associate of Dr Livingstone two months after his death. He arranges to meet him at the RGS, London where he was due to meet Mr Oswell too, the noted African explorer, who had accompanied Dr Livingstone on his discovery of Lake Ngami in 1849. Fascinating juxtaposition of important names in African exploration.
