1572 Legal document signed "A.Paulet" at the foot, advising of the appointment of John Popham of Willington in the County of Somerset, as his lawful attorney, in dealing with "the fourthe parte of the parsonage and Rectory of Carhampton in the said Countie of Somerset". Signed in the "xiiiith yere of the Raigne of our sov(er)aigne Lady Elizabeth by the grace of god Queene of England of France and Ireland Defendour of the fayth &c".
Paulet was an English diplomat, Governor of Jersey and goaler of Mary Queen of Scots while she was imprisoned at Chartley Castle until her execution at Fotheringhay Castle on 8 February 1587 (340x130mm, reduced at the right not affecting any text)
