1867 (9 Dec.) envelope to H.M. Vice Consul, Rabbat & Sallee, Morocco, Africa, bearing Great Britain 1867-80 6d. Plate 6, wing margin at left, with "805" duplex cancellation of Torquay, rated "1/-" (deleted as the recipient was entitled to free Postage), transit datestamps on the reverse, fine and with an amusing message regarding "The habits and propentsities of a monkey" on the flap. Fine and rare. Believed to be one of the earliest (if not the earliest) recorded letters from Britain to Morocco. Photo
