Kingdom of Pontos, Mithradites VI Eupator (120-63 BC) AR Tetradrachm, Pergamon, dated 209 SE = 88/89 BC, diademed head right rev. BASILEOS/MITHRADATOY/EYPATOROS Pegasos grazing left, crescent and star to left field, TH-S (date) to upper right of pegasos, monogram to left field, all within ivy-wreath, 16.51g (SNG Lockett 2646 (this coin); Boston 1357; SNG Cop 234-235 var.; BMC 2-4 var.), well-struck on a broad flan with lovely toning and residual lustre, a few very light scratches to higher points, but otherwise a wonderful example of a great rarity, and, moreover, part of one of the great collections in numismatic history. Good very fine and immensely rare, not to be missed
