SORS INDUSTRIÆ, naked Fortuna flying sail and standing on globe, HAC FAVENTE in exergue, security edge, 3.47g, 12h (Memmersheimer 2504; Wolff -; Haas 233; KM 424; Fb. 2039), light handling marks in otherwise quite brilliant fields, a most attractively bold extremely fine, very rare, in NGC holder, graded MS61 (Cert. #6768684-012)

The so-called "Lottery Ducat" was struck on the occasion of the founding of the Mannheim lottery in 1767. The inscription on the back indicates that one should not only rely on fortune's favour, but also that a fair amount of diligence is required to be successful.
